Sweet Charity

I've said it before but the charity shops of Newcastle are an absolute gold mine. Once again, I managed to get some wonderful clothes for pennies. Have a look.

This beaded top was an absolute bargain. Although a size 14, thus 3 sizes too big, it fits well as a micro-dress to wear with leggings. I'm contemplating cutting out the shoulder pads though. Eight British pounds - absolutely nothing compared to the £35-40 you'd pay in the average Vintage shop.

I really love the mesh shirt I found for five pounds. I've been looking for one for ages.. hook and eye fastenings and a sharp opaque collar really caught my eyes. Similarly, I adored this 3 quid tapestry waistcoat which me and Holly swooned over instantly. It's a bit 'Jim Davison a la Big Break' but I love it.

To old friends and new

I promise one day I'll write something a little more lengthy. But here's what I like in my wardrobe today.

First is my favourite purchase of the last few months.. a tan short-sleeved jumper from H&M. Better still, it was a mere £12.99. That's 4 pints of ale. Amazing.

Next up is a re-discovery in my old Vintage scarf that I've made into a chunky headscarf. I think it was about £3 from Camden Market, about 5 years ago.

Your Favourite Weapon

My ultimate favourite shirt ever. £8 from a vintage shop.

Freakin' out.

Getting to the stage of move-out when I need to sort through all my things.. which leads the inevitable trying on of clothes. Here's two outfits I tried on earlier.

My 'Daisy' 1920s outfit. Still like and would certainly wear all the time. Dress - Topshop. Hold-ups - H&M. Headband - from my sister.

Mixing lumberjack with dominatrix or something. Shirt - Primark men's. Hotpants - Vintage reworked. Belt - New Look.

Interesting..

Sheffield: Sex City

One reason I'm excited to be moving back to South Yorkshire.. breathing the same air as this guy..

I won't be seeing you for a long while.

Today I said goodbye to Ben, who although lives in Doncaster, is off to Isle of Wight for the summer and then travelling. I'm really sad, I don't know when I'll see him next. Gonna miss that fella, he's my favourite. WHO WILL I COOK FOR NOW? WHO WILL DRINK WINE AND WATCH SHIT TV WITH ME NOW?

Here, have a video.

And a picture cos we're fit.

Paint a Vulgar Picture

Me and Ben were talking about the 'Instagram' iPhone app yesterday and after confessing I'd quite like it for Blackberry, I can't really think why I'd say such a ridiculous this.

At the risk of sounding like a pretentious dickhead, real photos are the way to go. Why - you may ask? Here are 5 reasons.

1. You need them printed and thus are more motivated to stick them up on your wall, make a fancy mural, start your photo journal or worship them if you're that way inclined.

2. They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes - take Sarah's amazing collection for example. We get gems like this..

3. They're more flattering, most of the time. This is me, post-break-up-breakdown, in about 30 degrees heat at Glastonbury and with a stupid bowl cut. Still look about average.

4. On the contrary, there is no delete button on a film camera and thus leaves you with tragic gems such as this.

5. I don't really have a fifth reason as such, merely just want to post Natalie's example of film photographs in all their beauty.

Dance to the beat of my drum.

Totally in love with the new Nicola Roberts single. Pop music at is finest, I'd say.

Also, here's this morning in pictures.. in essence, just be prancing about in an outfit I enjoy, really.

Skirt and leggings - Primark
Top - Charity shop
Boots - Vintage
Bra - H&M
Belt - New Look

I should probably dust the mirror once in a while.

I particularly enjoy my top, which was literally about £2. And my 99p lipstick.

I hate the word 'bargain' because it occurs too frequently in my calibre but I don't think there's any other way to describe it.

My third go at Blogger.

I'm pretty determined to make this work. I guess I should probably introduce myself, but if you're reading this you probably already know me. Maybe I'll do the awkward intros when I'm a world-famous Internet personality or something. Anyway, as you might've guessed, my blog name is a reference to The Fall who are ace and so it's clear I like music. So I'll post a lot about that. I'm also probably going to post an awful lot about clothes and even more moaning than the other social network sites face from me. (I've just graduated and am about to face unemployment.)
Happy days or something?
