Diamond Day

I have so many outfits to blog, due to the start of working the 9-5 offic dream, but I forgot to take photos so apologies. Anyway, Thursday officially saw the end of my Newcastle life as I graduated from Uni. Here's what I wore.



Black shift dress, sheer tights, Gucci-wannabe belt combo and H&M wedges. I also sported wave-y hair with my favourite Harry Potter middle parting.


I think a mention needs to go out to the gownmakers and my uni's taste as our hoods were absolutely gorgeous. Old gold and a white fur trim lining. So classy, I loved it. Naturally, I took the time to do this research and though a strictly black and gold theme for my outfit would be most suited.

Coat Check Dream Song

Two purchases today.. first is a smart coat for work! (I start my big scary job tomorrow, argh!!!) It's a bit Burberry so I teamed it with my vintage scarf and boots and my H&M bowler hat. A bit bloke-y but heyho.



Oh, if you're bothered about my 'norrarsed' outfit underneath, I'm wearing a Topshop bandeau and vintage Levi cut-offs.



Back onto the coat though and I thought it was a touch baggy for the cold winter days that will no doubt reach us in a few months, so I used my Gucci-wannabe combination from the other day.. larger buckled belt was from Primark and the tassled one, H&M.




Of course, the belt is nothing like the beauties that Gucci come up with. I'm not sure if you care or not, but here's one we can all swoon over.



Secondly, less a purchase, more a sweet 'acquiring' of another item of clothing. My sister gave me a lovely floral shirt today, courtesy of Freshmans in Sheffield. I hope it's smart enough to wear for work. We shall see.

Passing the Hat

Following the loss of my second festi-hat of 2011, I'm determined not to lose the latest of my collection. The good ol' faithful BOWLER. I've wanted one for ages and H&M have just selling soft felt-ish ones for a tiny £7.99.



Here I am looking part-Mr Ben, part-Boy George and part-Thom Yorke. Perfect for my inevitable Radiomarriage.

Lazy Confessions

Here's what I wore today..

Once again a jumbled mix of everything - green pleated top as a skirt (Topshop), Moldy Peaches customised cropped top (eBay), Denim cut-out jacket (charity shop), cream patent pointy brogues (Schuh), Gucci rip-off belt (two - Primark and H&M) and satchel (Primark).

Remember That I Love You

I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry. (Although I'm not sure who I'm addressing as I have very few followers anyway.) I need to remember to update this blog more often. Again, to return to a bit of fashion, a lot has happened since my last post. Glastonbury has been and gone and I now have a job. (Expect a work clothes post very soon.)
Anyway, I'll stop chatting and give you the low-down on my fashion highlights of recent weeks. Or should that be 'fashion' - as in, my warped perception of it.

Firstly, here's me and Mummy Faulkner. I like scarves at the moment (and have done for years) so teamed it with a blouse, tied up and here was the result. I was a hungover mess this day.

Festival time and Glastonbury was all about home-made feather headbands. (I got a 12-pack of real feathers from eBay for £1.99 and attached a few to a headband.) As well as a trusty bandeau for the hot days and a midi skirt to leave a bit of dignity in tact. I always find oversized scarves useful to hide the bits you are insecure about. I teamed this with my shambolic non-waterproof parka (RIP) and that was my look for pretty much the entire weekend. Not really sure how it looks, but I received a few compliments so hooray.

Speaking of oversized scarves, here's one I got as a present that I've made into a midi-maxi skirt. I absolutely adore it, even though I probably look ridiculous. I have an obsession with long skirts at the minute, though my height suggests I probably shouldn't wear them. I teamed this with my sister's gladiators, a Radiohead t-shirt and denim cut-off jacket. Hello, new outfit, for no extra cost!

Finally, I made it a pledge through summer to not wear black.. but deep down, we all know I'm a massive goth. These are two strictly monochrome top-halves that I love. I think the deep lipstick and heavy patterns really set this off, but that's just me sounding like a pretentious twat, I guess. Sorry!

Anyway, sorry that was pretty brief, I promise (myself, more than anyone else really) to update this more cos I love the sound of my own voice. Ciao!
